I visited Piazza San Pietro in Vatican City on a late Tuesday afternoon in May. The area near St. Peter’s Basilica was cleared of people as they prepared seating for the Wednesday morning mass. Garden of the Gods is located in Colorado Springs, CO. The park offers striking contrasts of color in the geologic formations, due to the close proximity of red, blue, purple and white sandstones, and limestone that jut out of the ground.
