About This Blog

Technology has evolved to a point where it now offers unprecedented measurement of everything.  Information of every type exists that allows us to measure and quantify nearly every decision.  At the same time of gaining this massive information capacity, we have lost our ability to make judgements using any information.  Whether through information overload, lack of context, or the bias of “correctness”, we hinder our ability to make the best decisions with any information.

More information is not the answer.  Context, creativity, and a rational analysis with directional information will often lead us to the best available answer.

About Rob Saker

I am a Marketing Technology & Analytics professional in the Consumer Goods industry with experience working with Healthy Choice, Slim Jim, Butterball, and other leading brands.

A Technology organization offers a central vantage point to the business. It’s often the single common point in efforts, providing the ability to define how the parts of the organization collaborate.  In my role, I try to help people identify and understand opportunities for leveraging technology in Marketing and develop relationships that promote their objectives through information.

I am presently employed with MillerCoors in our Chicago headquarters. Love the people I work with and think we have the best portfolio of beers anywhere.

I am part of the “always on” generation.  I strive to understand people on an individual level.  When not at work, I can be found exploring country roads, talking with locals, and enjoying my surroundings.  My main companion in my travels is Gus, the free-spirited mighty squirrel hunter.

In my journeys, I have been fortunate to meet and make friends with many incredible people.  I respect and enjoy people that are also curious, collaborative, intelligent, passionate, strong-willed, funny, motivated and who believe they have the ability to accomplish whatever they set out to do.

We live in a tremendous time where we have the technology that allows us to share experiences and stay connected with friends and family that may be thousands of miles apart.  I can be reached at:

    Hi Rob,

Enjoyed all you photos and commentary about life, particularly in Milwaukee. It’s interesting about the grumpy old folks. I suspect it has more to do with being in a city than anything else–out in the small towns/country, they’re probably less grumpy. (I’m a Michigander originally.)

I have a question: I got to your blog because I’ve been looking for photos of the Harley-Davidson factory for a training program I’m doing at work (Boeing in Portland, Oregon). This is an internal training program only, not to be sold for profit or anything, that highlights how well Harley-Davidson is doing in implementing Lean Manufacturing methods. We’d just like to have a visual to go along with all the talk about efficiency, safety and so on. Yours is the best photo I have come across that isn’t a commercial one H-D is unlikely to share.

    What do you think?

BTW, if you want spectacular scenery, you really have to try Oregon. After years in the mideastern states, I feel like I’m in Paradise here.
